Basically a personal development plan follows the steps that you take when you set goals. So in making this, you simply need to write the details that you need on paper and make them happen.
The first thing that you want to do is to decide on what you’ll do to make a positive change in your life. To help make this process easier for you, think about the things that you don’t like about the state of your life or that you want to have in your life. Jot them down in a list format and then, select the item that you want to focus on. Make sure to choose only one and set a single goal because you want to be able to give all your attention on completing one thing. Since this is a personal goal and probably a change in attitude or an addition of a habit, the steps that you’ll most likely take are doing a few major tasks and several daily maintenance activities. For example, if you wish to become a socially confident individual, one good activity that you can do is to make it a point to speak to someone new each day. And by speaking I mean you talk to this person for a few minutes and have a sensible conversation with them. Aside from setting this goal each day, if you’re a busy person and just to make sure that you get the time to do this, schedule it at a specific time of the day. A great time would be during lunch break or when you’re heading home.
As soon as you finish identifying what you need to do, make a schedule of these activities. As mentioned, setting a specific time for each activity is vital in making a change, so in order to help you remember what these tasks are, you need to set them on paper and make a table with their respective schedules. You can use tools for this such as apps on your phone or computer or a simple schedule template found on your notebook or journal. You could even set reminders and alarms on your mobile device to help you remember them.
These are basically the primary things that you have to do to make a personal development plan. Of course, you must have motivation and focus as well as patience to be successful in this endeavor. Emphasis is given on patience since you will most likely be dealing with things that take lots of time to be ingrained in your system.
